COMMUNITY

about us

The American city should be a collection of communities where every member has a right to belong. It should be a place where every man feels safe on his streets and in the house of his friends. It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.

      — Lyndon B. Johnson

We believe that our community involvement is a reflection of our values, integrity, generosity, and kindness. To that end, The McMillan Law Firm is dedicated to helping the communities that it serves. We take pride in the truth that our community involvement serves a greater good and ultimately makes the communities that we live in a better place. Below are some of the highlights of our community service activities.

Volunteer Activities

Occassionally, we will accept criminal cases where the accused is unable to pay a private attorney, and is factually innocent of the charge.  In the rare criminal cases we accept, the accused must be able to “take the stand” and truthfully testify on his or her own behalf in order for us to consider accepting such a case.  Because our attorneys’ trial skills necessarily must be kept honed, any clients who engage us as their attorneys must anticipate going to trial.

Grants and Contributions

The McMillan Law Firm supports efforts to improve the lives of children and contribute to their education.  Towards that goal, the Firm provides grants and contributions to causes benefitting children.  One example of a grant that the Firm will consider for future funding is an instances where a child is unable to attend a school function due to his or her family’s financial circumstances.  Or, where a class has an opportunity to attend a function but cannot afford the cost of the transportation. The Firm will consider individualized grants on a case-by-case basis.  This one example of the Firm’s contributions.
